Activities:
* Play a simple game
like “tag, you’re it” or “Hide and Seek” to see if you can play the game
without getting sad or mad.
* Jesus was found in
the temple at age 12. For those that are
twelve and older, they can go do temple work, like baptism for the dead or get names
ready for the temple. Twelve year old
boys pass the sacrament.
* Put a name on each
family members back; like Jesus, Mary, Joseph, temple, feast, Jerusalem. Then
have the family member ask yes or no questions to see if they can figure out
what name is on their back. *
* Draw a picture of a
temple.
* Play hangman and use one of the above words
to play the game.
* Hand out a piece of wood and ask “what
would Jesus do?” Like would he come to dinner when his mother called him? Would he study when he was supposed to? Would he help someone that lost his pet cat?
* Pass out bean
bags. Jesus might have had toys like a
bean bags. Try to get a bean bag in a
bucket and try being happy.
Bean Bags:
1. Bean bags can be placed in a
microwave for about 30 seconds to feel warmth.
2. Throw the bean bag to a target like a
bowl or marker.
3. Have a designated person to toss the
bean bag to.
4. Take one bean bag and toss it to
someone in the circle. That person tosses it to another until everyone in the
circle has tossed it to someone. The
game continues with the bean bag being tossed to the same person that it was originally tossed to. See how many times you can
go around before the bean bag is dropped.
To make it a little more challenging add a second bean bag and then a
third. It becomes a little more challenging to remember who you tossed it to.
